Photographer’s Note
This natural rock formation with a 25m square plateau stands 604 metres above sea level.
A very popular tourist destination as you can see!

Hello there!
A good photo of Preikestolen. When I was there, the clouds were so low that it was impossible to make any photo =(.
Conderning this photo:
-From the spot you were standing it is difficult to compose the image properly. The composition of this photo seems good, but I think that the better place would be (most probably) to stand several steps to the left, so you would have the pulpit rock in the 1/3 of the image from the left, and more open space to the right. But - in Norway we usually don't have much possibility to chose where to take the photo from - since this "several steps to the left" might mean - in the middle of a chasm.
-Another option could be to make the photo in "portrait" layout (vertical). Thus you could have pretty good composition, and at the same time - include the rock wall which makes a very good impression of height. But then - you would lose some of the greenery around - which adds some "life" to the scene.
But these hints - unfortunately - mean that you would gain something, losing something at the same time.
On this photograph I like the framing effect of the tree on the right and the rocks at the bottom.
Also - using UV filter might reduce the "haze" effect here.

Hello Philip
Just to point things out.
Photo is from Rogaland, not Sogn og Fjordane.
Second: how did you get to this spot, didn't even think it was possible to get this photo spot!
600 meters above sealevel, that is correct, but it hanging out over a fjord.
Thank you for sharing
Odd Jarle
