Photographer’s Note

This is a view from the outside of the Cultural Center of Belem, in Lisbon. This is one of the great cultural centres in Europe, and a building of outstanding architecture: (architects: Vittorio Gregotti and Manuel Salgado, and interiors by Daciano Costa) it hold room for exhibitions, performing arts, restaurants, gardens and shops besides a Conference Centre.
The massive complex was built in the 80´s, not without a lot of controverse, because it´s located in an area with many national monuments, and some of Lisbon´s ex-libris. Still, it´s presence soon became part of the normal routine of the inhabitants of our capital.
The image was perspective corrected and colour balanced.
