Dusk over San Francisco Photo

Photographer’s Note

This is the view of San Francisco you get from Twin Peaks, a view that can certainly be elusive for much of the year when the peak is wrapped in dense fog. On a clear evening like this though, you have the city in the palm of your hand.

You can see the brightly lit Market Street stretching off into the distance from the Castro district all the way to Embarcadero. The Bay Bridge is already illuminated at this time of evening and can be seen top right.

Is this a beautiful city or what?

Hello James,
I love this image, the roads look like veins running into the city 'heart'. Excellent depth is seen here, well into the land across the bay, and over to the bridge. The colour range and sharpness of this image is impressive also, with a most interesting point of view. A must see destination for when I will visit America! Brilliant.

Hi James,
Nice shoot. I particulary find beautiful this illuminate street in the center. It seems as fire cuts San Fransisco in two parts. And the light of the street gets very well with the deep blue of the sky.

It is indeed a beautiful city, and it's a beautiful photo, too! You can also see the Campanile on the campus of UC Berkeley sticking up just above the second tower from the right on the Bay Bridge, too. Pretty cool.

Nice timing & a good POV over the city. The city lights have begun to take effect & there's still some natural light in the sky to provide contrast.

The shot could do with some sharpening as it looks a little out of focus.
