Photographer’s Note
Yesterday, Animesh Ray (AnimeshRay) wrote a critique for a photo that I uploaded to TrekEarth almost 2 years ago - a taxi driver's point of view - and it reminded me that I had taken a similar style of shot in Hong Kong.
Today's photo was taken on the expressway in the Causeway Bay district of Hong Kong Island. I was in the passenger seat of a taxi.
I feel this one compliments my last posting - heading into the city - as we appear to be heading 'out' of the city in this one.
Tech: Slightly cropped all sides to show just the reflection in the mirror. Resized, sharpened and added border.

This works for me. I might have cloned out the corners of the mirror, but that's just a personal taste.

Bonjour Andrew,

Hi Andrew,
That's a brilliant PoV with great compo of reflections and depth. The technical quality is excellent with great sharpness & saturated colours. Good job. ...now I'm off to take a taxi n try this out :)

Nice rearview mirror photo, Andrew. The mixture of subtle distortion and reflections in the side windows blends well into the decidedly urban setting, and the perspective effect and crisp details all the way to the back are well presented.

Amazing POV, Andrew, and a great idea. I like the way you show us a wide angle view of the business district with it's famous landmark - the bank of China. I alos like the mirror's frame as your picture border. Great job.

I find this photo pretty strange because of the way you decided to crop it: Instead of seeing it as a mirror, it seems I am looking it through a hole. Therefore, I totally agree with your idea, makes it more original. Usually when I see other photos of this kind I always have the feeling that something is missing and now you made me realise what is it: the background (that is, the image out of the mirror) distracts the view from what one wants to show in the mirror (it is not easy to explain, I hope I made myself understood:(
In sum, it is a good photo and good idea, being the only negative point the image of your camera, could be better if not showing it up, but of course also not easy
