Photographer’s Note
Market Street, 2 ad posters which provided a symbolic meeting of 2 ages of music, blasting together in unison, from (trumpet) mouth to ear.
In retrospect, i wish I had opened the DOF a bit more.

i like the juxtaposition here herve. the trumpet player (louis armstrong??) and the funky ipod ad next to it.
i really like the black and white composition, however i might have cropped the negative space off the bottom of the shot. i don't think your dof is bad ... i like the background being a little blurry!
great shot!

Hi Herve
The F/11 is good, you still can read the contrasting IPod sign as contrast, maybe a bit more contrast or here a combi with sepia could be an option. Fine to spot this two world meeting each others thanks to 'Ap..' :)).

Hi Herve, very, very well observed and some good B&W tones. I think the limited depth-of-field is fine - it further exaggerates the difference between the iPOD girl and Louis. Stephen

Bonjour Hervé,
I had one of my favourite song by Nougaro right in my mind after recognizing Armstrong. :o)
I quite like these pictures, mostly taken in cities, where the big publicity boards and the reflections in huge shop windows are mixing so well.
I saw it often in Sarolta's, Gal's and a couple of others and I'm always amazed how you all succeed in creating a fancy fantasy image in the quite dull daily world... Bravo, it's very well done, also including a juxtaposition of the two generations involved.

Herve
Good image comparing between a musical instrument from one era and the iPod form a more modern age. B&W adds to age the shot and add atmosphere.

Très belle cette composition à la volée.
Amstrong qui fait swinger en live les jeunes .. à moins que ce soit les jeunes qui l'écoutent avec leur iPod.
Merci, Alain -

Belle juxtaposition, en espérant qu' Amstrong fréquente les i pod...
Bonne journée

That's very interesting shot. Music and dance in divided frame. Good idea.

A nice contrast of age, Herve
Like a clever meaning behind this shot. A contrast of age made an controversy topics.
Acoustic vs Electronic,
Improvisation vs Programming,
Manual vs Automatic
The choice is yours.
But anyway, the shot is very well present in B&W image.
Interesting shot.

great double shot. Louis is definatly one of the great ones, and he represents a time in complete contrast with the ipod revolution.
