Photographer’s Note
Another day has passed, for this tired Mom working at the Bayon, going home with her little one in tow.
For the majority of cambodians, life is very hard, a day off is a luxury few can afford, and I imagined her thoughts and worries were worlds apart from those of the few tourists left behind her, lonely figure amidst the ruins of her country's past.

Hi Herve
Is a sad notes, facing the facts of those living in Cambodia in much poverty and less luxury. We hope more tourists to flockering to this country and made the country as one of the best place to visit in Asia.
A very sad photo as well, a lonely mother with her little one, walking in the open.
And to make the atmosphere more dramatic, you have this image converted into B&W. Excellent idea, Herve.
Cheers and good day.

These couple looks so vulnerable and transient against the massive and ancient stones. A very touching scene!

Salut Hervé
Très belle image de cet enfant tenu par son père dans un cadre aussi somptueux. Le noir et blanc est bien vu. Très belle gestion de la lumière

hey herve! great to see you posting again.
i like this b&w. what really appeals to me is the jumble of ruins in the background. nice wide frame and the woman and child make for a good subject.
nice shooting!

Complexity and simplicity. A good composition. Angkor Wat is a wonder of the world but Cambodian's life remains unaltered.

Eloquent note and powerful image Herve. They look so small and fragile next to the looming Bayon temple. I see it as a parity of Cambodia's current fragile state compared to the power that the Angkor civilization once had. Well done! :)

Cordialement
christian

Herve, we clearly have a very different portfolio, but looking at yours, I enjoy lots of photo's and their notes. Interesting how you off-centered the woman and her child, and therefore gave some attention to the ruins, something I learned today.
regards,
David

HI Herve,
too much emotions is inside this photo. What I see strong is the field of columns and the same vertical silhouettes of silent people. B/W is great for this empty feel.
Regards,
Stanislav
