Photographer’s Note
The Rose Garden at Zweibruecken is helding a number of events to attract peoples to pay the entry fee for the park. A regular one is the model boat show on a Sunday early in May. As Zweibruecken has no own model boat association, they invite our local "Interest Group Ship Model Building" from Pirmasens to show their r/c boats on the pond as well as on the shore. Most of the members on the pic wearing a blue polo shirt. Due some technical faults they had not so much on the pond. But the boats are moving (people too) and after careful cropping of the original shots I have the fishing boat and one sailing boat twice in the picture.
The panorama was stitched together from six photos by AutoStitch which coped well with the narrow overlapping zone between the two photos for the left part. A pleasing fact was that this time I had not to do any color adjustments with the original pics. As a result of merging the left sailing boat had too greenish sails and I inserted the original white
version again. Further I touched up some distracting leaves from the pond. Leaves and waves are producing huge amounts of kilobytes and I had to resize the panorama to about one fifth of the original photos size to keep the 400 k limit. It would also be possible to continue the panorama to the right by two photos, but there aren't any eye-catchers apart from two flowering rhododendrons in the distance.
You can view more pictures from this day - flowers and boats - in my Fotopic Collection.
