Photographer’s Note
Taken in the Cultural Center of Belem, in Lisbon (Lisboa) with a Casio QV7000. If my memory serves me well it was taken at wide position (64mm) with f/4 and 1/250 sec. exposure. Slight colour correction, saturation and unsharp mask were applied to the image, the composition was on site, no further crop was done.
The purpose was to try and "draw" a snail shell shape with the marble cut against the wood´s red and yellowish background, almost flattened, but without completely destroying the appearent depth of the subject.

I like the composition, rather unique from the usual spiral effect. The colors are nice too.

I think during your saturation and unsharp masking you have captured too much grain in the image. Other than that the composition is excellent Nice gradation of tones and great use of negative space.
