Photographer’s Note
The Dominoes Games were born in China, nobody knows when, but sure long time ago. They were standardized in the 12th century, and exported through the european travellers during the Renaissance.
There are several types of games, with similarities and differences with the european dominoes. Although dominoes is still a very traditional game in countries like Spain, my impression is that in China they are much more popular.
This was a pleasant sunny sunday afternoon, and all the tables on the top of the Solitary Hill above the West Lake in Hangzhou were occupied by people playing dominoes.
The players did not care too much about the strong sun and were deeply concentrated on the game.

I believe it could be Mah Jong, a domino style game very fashionalbe in Europe in the 1920's. Many Asian people play it for money as far as I know (like game of bridge in the Western world, for example). I regret the plastic tile, old one being ivory (or bone) and bambuh.
All the best,
Emmanuel

Hola Antonio

Carlos.

Hi Antonio
A game of Mah-Jong.I never could quite understands the rules as they are complicated,a strategy game.
Good presentation,I like to see the hands on action and under tension, they are telling us what is going on.
Sharp and clear
Charles
