Photographer’s Note
Good day!
Located next to the old barn posted yesterday, the covered bridge.
Eloquent remnants of a tumultuous past have survived the battles of time to confer a very special character upon the village. Stroll along the 1929 covered bridge, which was swept away twice by the river floods (and was also pictured on the $1000 bill for almost forty years). Visit the church and the presbytery surrounded by apple trees, and the Faubourg houses close to the quay. Delight in the miniature models of the houses and the covered bridge with their depictions of life on rue Saint-Jean-Baptiste. Notice the small oratory of the Virgin with sheep and cow, located next to the miniature lighthouse, and close to the village market, and the many bread ovens dispersed alongside the houses.
Source: Anse-Saint-Jean is listed on the most beautiful villages of Quebec Network.
Cheers!
