Photographer’s Note
This is Catsty Cam in the Lake District seen from Striding Edge. If you look closely at the summit there are a few tiny ants - people standing on the top. (Obviously they are clearer in a larger size file).
This is the sort of light I like and the reason why I am perplexed why the place was awash with photographers yesterday. There was bright blue sky and sunlight yesterday but the pictures I took were washed out, undramatic and hazy.
The times when the clouds paint patterns on the hillsides though are the times for me. When I can just point my camera and get something nice without my lack of skill getting in the way. Perhaps I need to learn better how to take pictures in bright sunlight.

I chuckled a little at this shot as it may well have been me on the summit. After leaving the summit I couldn't stop myself from leaving the path, sitting on my backside and sliding down the hill shouting Weeeeeeeeeehh. See my posting snapping you back on Helvellyn.
I agree with you about the light though, the clouds are needed to take out the extreme glare of the light and snow. Great shot.
