Photographers Note
I left Vietnam for the USA when I was 13 the age that a person hasn't much to remember after his small family and society.
I made my first return and found everything strange to me, except the language. During this trip, I had a chance to visit Nha Trang and stay for a couple of days in the city that I have no friend nor relative. I was just one of the strangers to the city... and I enjoyed being left aside.
I took this picture from Hon Chong toward Nha Trang shore at its crepuscule.
Hong Chong is a small crescent-shaped bay. It mainly consists of massive rocks lying on top of one another. Hon Chong is divided into two parts. The first part is situated offshore and the other is in the sand dunes at the Cu Lao fishing hamlet. The offshore cluster includes layer after layer of massive rock emerging from the sea. These layers of rocks act as natural wave breakers.
The second part, Hon Chong Promontory, located in the sand dunes, looks like the work of a giant, who carelessly put several massive rocks together. On one side of the rock, facing the sea, there is a deep handprint with the five fingers close together.

You have succesfully captured the reflection of sunset on the waves. If I had been here with you, I don't think I can make as good as you.
Regarding the "the city that you have no friend nor relative", sometimes it is better to have been alone. [I remember Hong Xun Việt wrote some where in his books, "C độc l l luyện tm, l qu hương của thin ti, v l tử cung của đại sự"]. A few days before you came, my buddy Kiet Luu a native of Nha Trang has been here in the middle of his long itinerary to Sapa, Bac Ha, Ha Long, Perfume Pagoda, Hue, Phnom Penh, Siem Reab and Vientiane. Has I known that you'd complain, I already connect you two together...
Cheers!

Nice capture of the light! I just came back to Nhatrang after 30 years. The city is no longer recognizable to me. The countryside did not change. The people are as sweet as when I left. Cheers...Kiet

Like you, I spent time in Nha Trang during my trip, but all the photos I took of this area are garbage that I already discarded and my face would turn red when any friend asked if they can take a look.
Had I not have the trip and witnessed that much failures, I never realize that graduation after 7 years in college is quite different from becoming a decent photographer by its pure meaning.
Regards,
YC
