Photographer’s Note
On the first Sunday in January of the new year, all 20 year olds don their Kimonos or suits and go the local shrine to give thanks for entering adulthood.
I snapped this on my way to to work in Nagasaki city center. I cropped the image, and then blurred the background as there was too much other stuff going on. I think I overdid the blurring a bit, it looks superficial. I hope I have a back up photo of the original somewhere!

yes he background is a bit too blurry but it makes the 3 girls stand out perfeclty with their colorful outfit.

I don't think the background is 'too blurry' as such, it's just that the edges around the girls have been blurred too. Perhaps you could feather the edges less to try and avoid this?
Technical issues aside though - it's a good image. I would love to visit Japan soon. Seeing all the Japanese images on here just make me want to go sooner.
Cheers
John.
