First of all, best wishes for 2006!

While Brazil may be known this side of the equator for its amazing beaches, vast jungles, stunning women and a penchant for fingerprinting Americans, it holds many treasures in its countryside.
One of its most treasured getaway spots is Campos do Jordão, a group of towns tucked in a valley of the Atlantic rainforest known for its unforgettable natural scenery and eco-tourism adventures.

The Pedra do Baú (Rock of the Trunk) is found at São Bento do Sapucaí town, with over 50 hiking trails, it's a national favorite for climbers and eco-tourists alike. It also has a launching platform for hang-gliding for the adrenaline junkies. Here you'll find great facilities for a Brazilian favorite: arborism, or tree-walking. This is done over a network of bridges built on treetops where you get up-close with tree fauna and have great views of the land below.

Great definition and color saturation, Carmem. Beautiful composition, I wish I could see a human element interacting with the environment... yes, that's it... is missing the human factor. But this is just an opinion. Did you disregarded another version because of that? Anyway is a great image.

Hi Carmem. Nice to see you again. I certainly think the polarizer was useful in taking the clouds up a notch. I like how you incorporated the large tree and used it to set up the rest of the image. Nice take Carmem.

Olá, Carmem. Que foto bonita, faz juz a Campos do Jordão. As cores e a composição me parecem primorosas e a Pedra do Baú bem destacada, o que nem sempre acontece em muitas fotos que tentam retratá-la. Saudações! Miguel.

This is an incredible scan! The colours are very saturated and lifelike. Great detail visible as well. I like the near/far composition, which gives this a great sense of depth. Well done!

Olá Carmen,

You are showing one of my favorite places in Brazil... and so much that I am going there again next weekend. (I simply love Campos do Jordao... specially in summer, when it is not crowded).

The perspective in your photo is very good, with strong lead lines. The tree on the left contributes to the depth of the composition, and the polarizer helped in rendering nice, rich, saturated colors, and good contrast in the sky/clouds.

Ola Carmen, bem-vinda ao TE. Já tinha saudades suas. Esteve perdida muito tempo. E voltou com uma foto para matar. Que cores, que definição, que vista!!!!! Maravilhosas silhuetas com um fundo selvagem cheio de cores e duma beleza que deslumbra a qualquer um. Não conhecia estes lugar, estou a ver que vale a pena dar uma voltinha por lá.
