Photographer’s Note
South Falls is the most accessible of the many waterfalls in Silver Falls State Park. It is located just a quarter mile from the main parking lot and near the historic park lodge and can be viewed without any climbing required. The height of the falls is 177 ft.
This picture was taken from the footbridge at the base of the falls which can be reached after a steep descent. This bridge is on the Trail of Ten Falls which meanders for 8.7 miles along the north and south forks of Silver creek. Because of the very steep terrain here the trail is not for the faint-hearted or unfit, but it is well worth the exertion.

Hi Don. Well the people sure do help with the scale here. With all of the waterfall shots you have you would love a neutral density filter. I bought one just for my trip out there last September. You can see what a 3 second exposure can do. If you ever buy a filter make sure it has a feature called multi-coated as this stops lens flare. Beautiful shot Don.

The people definitely add to this as you can see just how grand this falls is. I love all the cheery green too. I need to go visit this park this spring! Thanks for the reminder. Well done.
