Photographer’s Note
As I was taking this picture, a passer by said "that’s not a very interesting shot!" I told him that sometimes it’s the way the camera sees an object that makes it interesting. I don't know if I was really successful here, but I think the light and shadow make for a neat picture. The posts are mostly lit by a large billboard to the left of them, but a car getting ready to leave cast enough light on the right hand side of the posts to make it interesting.
New Zealand is known for its green areas, but like any other country in the world, its urban areas can be dark and seedy.
Cheers
M.

Michael,
I like the composition. The darkness in the background is a really nice fade for the posts. My only suggestion would be to crop the picture to leave an entire post just to the bottom left (rather than a small sliver of one). Nice shot. Thanks for sharing.

Good shot here and nice concept but I agree with Eric on this one with the cropping. Also I think that you may have over sharpened this one. If you look at the ground and the chain you can sort of tell. The rest of the shot is really sharp and look goods. Nice work!

You have indeed taken an item that is "not very interesting" and made a very interesting photo out of it. Your picture has great depth, and I love the fenceposts vanishing into darkness. Great depth of focus as well.
Nice work!

Hi Michael,
You were so right. The way those poles disappear into blur and darkness is fascinating.
The title could be more poetic, I just don't have anything in mind at the moment.
