Food Factory Photo

Photographer’s Note

These are silos at the Pura food factory in Docklands, London. I believe that they are used to hold vegetable oil which is refined and processed to make oils, margarines and fats used in cooking. The factory is now closed and being dismantled, which is why I believe it is important to get some pictures of the history of the area before they go and the land is used to build residnetial appartments and small retail units. The site is at the bottom of the lower lea valley close to the river Thames and is a prime location for upmarket flats.

Very interesting combination of natural and artificial colors, it also has a futuristic quality quite strange but inspirated. I think the vertical framing was the right choose. Light is great here. Very well done, this photo makes worthy the visit to TE today.

I like the simplicity of all these shapes and their soft colors. The placement of the swirling starcases is perfect.

I find this photo exceptionally colourful for a picture of industrial architecture. The composition is good with excellent tonal range of colours.

Hi David, this is a very good industrial graphism. I simple love all the gritty textured and the intrplay of circles and spirals. The clouds work great here together with the warm light - there a bit of a dramatic feel to it. Xcellent.
