Photographer’s Note
"Si j'avais les ailes d'un ange
Je partirais pour Québec"
If I had the wings of an angel, I would leave for Quebec.
This was the song by Robert Charlebois that I was listening to while driving down this road in Quebec (la belle province). Je ne sais pas où j'ai pris cette photo, mais il était sur la route 132
I had to start a theme dedicated to pretty fall colors as I was provoked by my European friends on TE who were posting photos of pathetic trees and calling the dull colours as pretty Autumnal Colours. Please excuse my arrogance but I think that you have to come to Canada to see the fall colours. So this theme is also an open challenge to rest of the world from Canada to show what they have got (I hope to be helped my Canadian brothers and sisters .. twink twink).
This photo is not really a very good indicator of the beautiful fall season in Canada, but I would like to post this photo anyways since it reminds me of some good times on the road and it might be start of a journey in search of the ever eluding fall colours on the planet earth.
Please feel free to critique and enter your photos to the theme that I have created.
Thanks for your help ... Merci
If you feel like, I would appreciate it if you could enhance my knowledge about the world music, by visiting this forum.
Thank You

Hola Sarju.
I used to live in Ottawa for more than two years, long time ago and i can tell you and your european friend that one of the most beautiful places in the world to see the changes of leafs colors during the autumn months is CANADA.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful picture.

I can't say I've ever been to Canada in the fall- It does look lovely. I must say though, in Oregon we get some pretty killer colors- red's the best. There is more than just pine trees ;) I love that cluster of orange in the photo- its perfect by the hill in the road. Great capture!

Bonjour Sarju,
Bon cadrage et POV, les couleurs d'automne sont superbement reproduites, dommage pour le manque de netteté.
Compliments.
Daniel.

Hai Sarju, I like the long road with the colorful trees along the road. I assume this photo was scanned and the trees look soft.

Hi Sarju, Nice to see we have a post side by side. This is a colorful picture, which is a good one to start your autumn color theme. I guess this photo indicates that you will drive a long way to collect many colorful picture for us and post them on the TE :D
Nice composition and impressive shot of autumn colors.

Hi Sarju,
I really like your challenge. We have had really long autumn with strong dull autumn colors. So I am really prepared. I love the dull colors of this shot. Excellent job!
Greetings,
Ulf

"Great minds think alike!" See how the links opens to a different page, hehehe!
How could I not enjoy this photo. Good idea about the theme, fall is such a great time for photography. Too bad that most of the time it rains. About the place of this shot, I know exactly where is was taken ;-) Well almost.

Good Afternoon Sarju -
Well you got me! I am a sucker for fall colors and this one made me look. Yes, Eastern North America and that includes Canada as well as the US has some of the prettiest fall colors that are unmatched anywhere. The one thing we do not have here in Colorado and the Rockies is trees of different colors. Most of our fall color is a variation of yellow and gold though pretty and spectacular in their setting the eastern hardwood forest do out shine our colors. This image is nice and I love the oranges and reds.
Well done and thanks for sharing.
John

Spectacular colours Sarju! Of course you're right - Canada has the best fall colours, and I'm not biased at all! I'll be in Toronto on business in about 10 days, but too late to see the leaves. Maybe I'll get to see a real skyline though :)

Oh! Come on Sarju; if you're going to start a war you have to post something from this year!! :)
I can't argue with you though; we haven't had any frost yet this year for stunning colours and as fast as the leaves turn colour the ever-present wind blows them off.
As for this shot the colours are good, but you need to clone out one or two dust specks.

HI Sarju, nice photo of colours, even if technically, it is not the best photo but it is very much representative of our beautiful colours here in Canada and it is because of our maple trees, which are not growing every where. But these trees are the ones that bring us those reds with the first frost usually as soon as in september.
But this year due to the hot season that we had through out this summer and fall, we didn't have frost until thursday Oct. the 13th, in my Ottawa region. So the colours here are not as red as it should be by now.
I have already posted one photo of fall colours, and I will post another one for your theme :)
Cheers to you! Yan
p.s., I went to Toronto yesterday for business and the colours were splendid on rte 401 around Brockville area :) But I forgot to bring my camera :(

Hi Sarju,
You are hitting the road again, this time in the countryside. Good POV here and dramatic fall colours. I was too early for the fall colours on my Quebec and New Brunswick trip, but you are quite right about the awesome colours in eastern Canada. Out west here we have mainly yellows. Good DOF. I might have tweaked the sharpen button up a little. Great shot.

So you are driving down the road looking for a photo to post on Trek. There must be a nice sight somewhere. Ah Ha a dip and some nice colots on the left. Its gorgous! And in this kind of lighting it will show a nice fall feeling too. " Honey why are you stopping?" ...your wife says. "How much longer am I going to have to put up with your Trek photos? If your not on the PC writing critiques you are shooting photos!!!" When are you going to spend time with me???"..A brilliant thought flashes through your mind. Why don't I send her to her sisters place for a month..( kids too) and I will head out with my Trek buddies on a Photo safari! Yeah.. LOL.

Hi Sarju
The colors are there, well seen and framed perspective on the road, perfect compo, sure you could improve the sharpness still a bit and undo some scan spots, but for a scan the colors here are marvellous.

Well, Sarju, you say there is great fall color there but all I saw was clouds and rain, LOL!!
This photo is proof, however, that you do get a nice fall season. Maybe I'll visit another time to see for myself.

Hi Sarju, Nice colors and point of view, probably took while driving and probably explaining the lack of sharpness, I guess the weather did not helped that they also. But it represent well the autumn we had, often cloudy with a lot of rain, at least in the south. Thanks for sharing, have a nice week.

Hi Sarju - excellent composition, but I agree this would have been much more spectacular under bright sunlight, impressive array of colour nonetheless and the road adds a nice touch.

Hi Sarju, nice perspective and composition leading the eye along the undulating road. I see that you didn't had to search to far away for the fall colours which are indeed very nice. Well done!

I knew about where this was before I even looked at the location. I lived near here, on the us side a long time ago and will never forget the crisp colors of autumn. I love road shots and this is pretty good as they go. I'm curious about the sign, what is it?

Just picked this one of the random photos of your Intro, Sarju, when looking for new posts of yours ;-)
It attracted my eyes imediately because of the strong perspective and the lovely Autumnal colors on the trees. The sky is white (and that doesn't bother me that much) and I miss Ana on her bike making this thrilled descending...Lol, but the feeling of this road image is still great. I really have the hurge of rolling down the road here. I'm really lousy with knowlodge of World music (as cameras...), so I can't contribute in that departmemt...
Thanks,
Cheers,
Ricardo
