Photographer’s Note

I spotted this beautiful girl protesting outside the Barcelona Zoo on a Saturday morning. She and her companions thought this event would draw people's attention on animal abuse. I can say I totally agree with her. The sign she's holding says: "The animals want to be free"

I think your picture is really good. The combination of colours is very strong and makes her sign even more obvious. I like the way she's looking, I mean, not looking at the camera. On the other hand I don't agree with her message, not because I don't like animal to be living in their own natural spaces, but because I think there many more important affairs now in the world to fight for (forgotten wars, poverty, global warming, ....).

Having such an ambassador always helps a cause ! The angle is kind of unusual but I like the way you captured her expression, looking completely lost and terrified, just like the animals that she stands for must be.

Yes, the animals are destined to be free. And the human, this animal who is the most remorseless predator on earth, able to made of killing, a game ... has forgotten so much how freedom is precious, that he has invented the captivity for its own species!

Very good capture, with an inventive composition. The intense look is particularly suggestive.
