Photographer’s Note

Fresh from the camera, I took this photo just a couple of hours ago. This is what the Toronto skyline looked like few minutes before the sunrise. It is a very nice day today in TO (Toronto) and I hope people are having a good day/night in their respective part of the world.

Special thanks to Ziggy whose wonderful early morning photographs inspired me to get up early.
I would appreciate it if you could let me know what you think about this photo.

Is'nt it amazing that sun is always rising or setting at some place on earth. I just had an idea about creating a theme where sun could be photographed at the same time from different part of the world ... or maybe we can show the sun setting in different part of the world on the same day .. anybody up for it ?

very nice picture! i love the colors!
but you can see that the camera has some difficulties managing this light situation.

Nice work with that little camera.
The watter part is a bit too big for me, and i think it can be cropped a little.
but all and all a great skyline.

Just a fine hommage to ZIGGY and another intersting and well captured sunrise picture at the Toronto skyline. I like the aparent soft light tilt to the right of the horizon, I'm seeing right! But if is true I like it. Fine contrasting colors of the sky, the skyline silhouettes and the nice blue of the water.

Very well seen, done and composed.

Hi Sarju. You sure were rewarded with the efforts of getting up early. I like the colors and composition. I see a little lack of sharpness. I bet it's from pushing the shutter button on the tri-pod and the 8 second exposure exaggerates it. When I shoot like this I put my camera in countdown mode so it takes the shot 2 seconds after pushing the shutter button for drastically sharper shots. I was shocked a tri-pod can move so much from pushing the shutter down. Nice catch Sarju!

A stunning early morning shot of the city skyline. The serenity and peace here is very evident, and I love the contrasting hues. The current line across the water nicely breaks up the water to enhance the scene. And yes, Ziggy has certainly inspired me to get up early for some shots lately...Very well done, Sarju.

Hi Sarju, a beautiful warm color and cold color combination in this picture. You have had a perfect timing in taking this picture. The background light is well contrast to show the city skyline while the city lights show the highlight of the city. A very well taken picture. Well done.

Another nice shot of TO and I kind of love this scene without the glaring morning sun. It is quieter and more peaceful. The two starbusts create interesting discord without being too distracting. The complimentary colours make the scene more vibrant and energetic. Well done!! Have a nice day.

I like the colours and texture of this very much, Sarju. I would have tried cropping 20% off the bottom (I think there is a bit too much water) and 30% off the right (so that the Toronto Tower is off-centre). Cheers . . . David

Very amazing colors, Sarju! The sillhouette works very well here. I'm tempted to crop just a bit off the bottom. I love how the colors are so vibrant and compliment each other so nicely in water and sky.

Hello Sarju, this is a great composition, nice point of view and great dof.

Ant the timing of the break of day is perfect: beautiful orangy colours of the sky against the blue water. That's what caught my attention. And the glow of the lights of the city.

I am speechless (and the only other way you can do that is hand me a bottle of beer...!) Wonderful skyline...your getting up early really paid off. Excellent sharpness and nice framing. The early morning colours of the sky with the city lights are very cool. Whadya know...my favourite collections are getting bigger..:)

Another grat sunrise in Toronto. I liked a lot the previous one, but this one is even better. YOu got a wonderful gradient of colours on the sky, contrasting very well with the blue sea, and the silhouete of Toronto is just amazing.
It was worth your early wake up.

The colors...very strong, the blue and the orange, with, in the middle, the town. The only bad point, the town could be sharper. Very nice.

Sarju, this is wonderful, and well worth the effort to get up so early in the morning. The sky behind the silhouetted Toronto skyline is very nice. I like the big ripple in the lake. Well done and congratulations for this great image. May I ask if you were on the island to take this view.

Hey Sarju, this is a fantastic photo, IMO better than the one you posted a few days ago. The colours in this sky are just awesome!

The silhouettes with the lights are just brilliant! Very well done!

I think your idea is gret too, many photographers all capturing the sunrise at their respective times all around the world, I think it would make a brilliant theme!
Obviously it wouldnt work everyone taking the photo at the same time because of the differing times of sunrise but, there would need to be some kind of rules in place I think i.e. the sunset submitted must be from a predefined date and must be within a 5 minute period of sunrise etc.

Either way let me know the date and the rules and you can count me in!

Another very good photo. I dont remember seeing the Toronto sky line looking so nice. The colors are warm and pleasing to the eye. Good capture of expression and moment.

Stunning colours and clarity here. I like this shot for its balance and beauty.

Good idea on the themes for the equinox. I will try to participate.

Superb shot Sarju! You captured the profile of the city beautifully. The long exposure time really pulled out the great colours. The tower in bang in the middle but I think it still works fine. The contrast of the cold blue water and the warm red/orange sky is particularly striking. Well done!

The light and colours in this shot are so pretty. I really like the silhouettes and the star-like lights. The lake looks almost icy thanks to the misty effect.
