Photographer’s Note
This photo was taken after the descent from Fotu La (altitude: 4100 meters). Fotu La (La= Mountain Pass) is the highest pass on the Srinagar-Leh Highway in Kashmir-Ladakh region of the Himalayas.
What I tried to capture in this photo:
1. Truck coming downhill from Fotu La.
2. Dried up river bed.
3. Pillars (geomorphological features) on the right side of the river bed (left side of photo)
PP: some adjustments with brightness/contrast and sharpened a bit.
I would be happy to answer any of your questions.
Thanks for your visit / Merci pour votre visite

Hi Sarju,
What a desert land. Here I will feel really lonely. But the sky is so beautiful that it worth going there. It's fascinating to see a truck at this altitudes because in my country the highest peak is above 2800 mt.

Hi Sarju:
I think your picture needs more smoothness and focus, but the point of view and the meaning are great, the colors and the saturation were very fine.

Hi Sarju
I got a feeling that this must be incredible to see in reality and I couldn't resist to imagine it by a WS, if you allow my imagination.
Greetings

Hi Sarju, A strange dry place. This is another nice addition to your Indian picture series. This is a very informative photo with many thing is look at and to understand the environment and the life there. A well taken picture with nice contrast and details.

Hi Sarju, now with the US space program on the way again, this could have been the first picture from Mars or the Moon. Such a dry and alien landscape. Must be tough to survive here. Great Shot!

Hello Sarju.
So you are back, did you had good vacations?
I do hope so.Any future project?
This place is very impressive and beautiful, well frame. We feel very small in such a place.I am curious to know if the very good WS of Henk is close to the reality,as you know it.
Take care
Charles

Hai Sarju, like this huge and empty land. The truck is a good reference point for me to see how vast this place is.

Hi Sarju,
A well composed scene which accomplishes the objectives set forth in your note. The colour tones are very interesting, as are the pillars. I like the shadow on the mountain contrasted with the blue sky. A good job on the scan as well. Good shot!

Both your and Henk's shot are really nice. This works in both b/w and in color. Yours communicates more desolation and emptiness. This is a grand, interesting s scene, Sarju.

Hi Sarju,
Strangely the name sounds a bit polynesian or maori but the place is with no doubt located high in the mountains, we see it from the absence of vegetation and the deep blue sky, I agree that Henk's Ws adds significant value to your photo, though I finds its effect a bit destructive on the sky color, in your version it's closer to reality.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Hi Sarju - breathtaking view at breathtaking altitude, though I prefer the colours on the WS version. Great work, though I wonder what that white thing at upper left corner is, a UFO? The WS has made it look even more like a UFO.

Hey Sarju, nice scene, I am wondering how big the river gets in rainy season, or does this river basin never fill up now? I know you say you have sharpened but I think it could do with a bit more, it is still not sharp enough for me.
Apart from that thou all good : )

Hello Sarju, I like your landscape pictures a lot. Here again we see a wide open barren land. A desolate and empty place yet filled with a sense of adventure and excitement.

What a magnificent sight!
I have to admit that these kinds of landscapes really attract me. Even in the most rough places, if you just take the time to look a little closer, you will soon find the most amazing little plants and other little beings busy living their lives. Perhaps this scale difference is really what does it for me :P
The colors in this picture are lovely, and the details with the bus, riverbed and poles on the right really anchor its scale perfectly.
Really a wonderful capture!
Thank You for sharing!
Kind regards,
Julia
