Photographer’s Note
Today most logging is done with chainsaws, big machines and trucks, but there are some locations where foresting is done by axe and horse. This is done in areas where large machines won't reach or the work is being done for a small scale job, such as this crew simply fetching firewood for the home stockpile.
This was taken in a communally managed area of forest in North Eastern Transylvania. An individual's contribution towards the replanting depends on how much wood they expect to take out in the year.

The DOF really brings out the effort the horse is showing. Would've liked to see the actual logs he was pulling but I understand you have had to be in the horses way to get that.

This is very good as it shows how much of the work in developed countries was carried out in days of old. We missed all that so don't appreciate it. A powerful picture you have here. Good composition.
