Photographer’s Note
We have no home... and we have not much at all... but we have our favourite checkers and a lot of free time... Are you happy more than us?
I changed colors to BW, increased contrast and add some noise.

Your note describes a few figures of the 'Beat' generation... Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg, William S. Burroughs ... the quintessential idea of being 'beat' in Hong Kong is depicted here. No possessions, no dust collectors, no heartache. They certainly do not need to protect their 'things' behind thick iron bars from being stolen. Free time and inner happiness is certainly what the rest of the world wants. I would say these guys find free time to play checkers and the rest of the time they work their little hearts out, how else could they afford their vices :-) A good image, i like the grainy otherwordly feel to this image. Black and white certainly helps.

I like this picture a lot, two guys just playing checkers... on the ground... I like the black and white tones and the grain... well captured.

I like your noisy pic, Marcin. It really adds to this scene, and your note, too.
You got them in a moment on deep concentration, I can imagine they didn't even notice you're camera.
Very well done Marcin.
