Photographer’s Note
This is view of Panzhihua has one caracteristic of the city : hills. This city has been build because of iron and vanadium ore findings. So the place was not chosen for being flat. In fact there is no flat place in Panzhihua except man made. Here the photo features the morning haze and an the city futur airport. Having more than 1 million inhabitants, Panzhihua is entitled to have an airport but as stated above there is no flat place. The solution is then to grind the top of a moutain (!), there it is on the left part of the center. The cranes on the foreground are a symbol of the growth of the city.
Technically, I made exposure blending, then played a lot with the levels.

This is so very much like China, at least in my mind. I really like mountain images that appear *2 dimensional*. As for exposure blending, I don't think I have tried that technique myself. However, what I do, if exposure is really problematic, is to have multiple exposures (3 to 4) of the same scenery. In effect, I will have 3 to 4 layers that I can *flatten* (ie combine) in Photoshop after adjusting levels appropriately. Just a thought ... I hope that is helpful!
