The characteristic face of this lady of age is certainly very photogenic Bob. I am not sure if it is due your scanning process or due to post camera work but the outlines of your subject looks a bit off... Nevertheless a good job to not let her pass by your camera unnoticed ;)

One of those amazing portraits that makes you think and wonder. How has her life been? What has her eyes seen? How many thoughts, good or bad has passed her mind? Like the colors and the natural framing the cloth on her head gives. But.. is the shirt in the background blurred out? The contrast between the ladys cheek and the shirt looks a bit strange.

Blast, I just lost all the green men. This reminds me of Jan Vermeer, an old Dutch master painter - his is of a younger woman, but also a conspicuous headdress. Great character here.

Its funny, but the first thought that came to me after I opened the thumbnail was, 'what an ageless photo.' I suppose what that meant, was that this elderly woman could be from almost anywhere in Asia. Her location seemed to make little difference, as the lines of experience that speak to a broader human condition prevail and are wonderfully captured here. Well done.
