Photographer’s Note

This is taken in a small town close to Bad Kissingen. It is an extremely old house and has a typical medieval German arcitechture. On the left side of the house, it was very interesting for me to see the wooden columns that were designed basically to hold the house together. They filled the openings between the columns by using a special material that would provide insulation.
Before seeing this up close, I was thinking that all the nice colors on the faces of the medieval type structures were paints. I was wrong, because they were wooden columns used to build the structure..
