Photographer’s Note
It had been disappointingly cloudy and raining all day during our drive south along the west coast of NZ’s South Island. We were missing so much of the scenery we had looked forward to viewing… But then the clouds broke, and we were treated to this magical rainbow. The light cast through the clouds was gorgeous. Screech! We stopped the car to admire and photograph this magical moment.
I considered several different crops for composition, but decided to keep the whole shot intact, as I like the “bigness” of it all. Hope you enjoy it, too.

To tell you the truth I would say that it is not really a very impressive photo but I like the emotion that you convey with your message ... coz I think I know what it is like when you cannot see the mountains and finally the sky clears up and you can see them .... even few minutes are wonderful

Hi,
I've been in NZ recently and it is realy amazing. I was there in the spring so I got the raining also, but after the rain there was always someting wonderfull to see.
