My last TE photo Photo

Photographer’s Note

Hi friends,

This it´s my last contribution in TE. It´s a sad moment but sometimes we have to take decision like this.

This year TE was great, because:
- I meet good people from alot of countries;
- I learn about photography;
- I show my town and moment´s of my life.

But i can´t continue because i don´t fell good only make comemt´s and TE admim disable my ability to make critiques.

I think this wasn´t a correct to me, because i talk to everyone about TE, i had post more then 160 photo´s, i had wrote more then 2 390 critiques, i had recive more the 2 780 critiques, i had one photo in Trieste exposition.

Rafael a bad face for your decision and for not having mentioned my name! In the past two of my photos were considered to violate terms of service. I was very angry because I wasn't agree: for this reason I considered to abandon TE. After some days I thought I could't leave because the pleasure to stay with all you was too much and to post pictures so funny. Stay with us, please: Portugal is my second Country and I am waiting to see many of your splendid pictures.

It is a very sad moment for me, Rafa. You shared with us many special moments of your life, and this is even more important than photos and points, critiques or comments.
You made your decision, but if you decide to come back, we will always be here for you.

Hi Rafael, it is sad indeed, I don't understand why you were disable to make critique ? Hope you'll find a way to keep in touch with us and come back. You for sure helped a lot of people in this community with your critiques and your pictures, thanks for sharing, hope to see you soon. I'm sad to see you take such a strict decision. Who cares about points or "comments vs critiques", isn't the most important aspect of this site to be able to share photos, to show something about one's own world - whether at home or while traveling - and in return to learn from other members, photographically as well as culturally speaking?
Also, it looks like you're just starting to master your D70. This is a very good photo. It would be very nice for us to see more of your work with the new camera.
I hope you will reconsider. In any case, I wish you all the best.

Hi Rafael,
“To learn more about the world by photography”. That is the meaning of Trekearth.
Your pictures and you critiques/comments were a great contribution to that.
Trekearth is good instrument but the difference between critiques and comment are unrealistic and have no goal in my opinion.
Of course it’s good that there is a webmaster who controls the rules, but I don’t think you violated the basic assumption of TE.
I’m grateful I met you on this place and will thank you for that.
I hope we meet again somewhere on the www.

Ce n'est pas moi qui le dis, c'est Baudelaire. Tu nous as enchanté à travers tes photographies, tu as pris le temps de critiquer et d'entamer des conversations très amicales avec nous. Je suis vraiment désolé de ce départ. S'il s'agit d'un coup de colère, il faut la laisser tomber et revenir parmi nous. Il y a sur le site beaucoup d'amis qui t'apprécient.

I'm sorry to hear you'll leave us, but I understand your decision.

Uma decisão algo bizarra, a de retirar a capacidade de crítica. Claro que as pontuações no TE têm algo de problemático para mim mas acho que o facto de lhe darem a possibilidade de fazer comentários é importante: existe sempre o risco de ficar proibido de ligar o computador...

It's too bad you're leaving, Rafael. I certainly would not mind receiving comments only or even critiques if they are listed as comments since you have provided some helpful suggestions in the past. And of course you have shown us some very good photographs. Perhaps you'll reconsider?

This is one of those very well seen scenes that you have captured so well. The play of perspective and lines are excellent. There is so much to draw the eyes in. The road, the sidewalk, the power lines. And it's a play of straight versus the curving road. And then in the sky the cloud was in the perfect spot for you as it sweeps on a diagonal across the sky, just off of the other perspective which creates a nice link from side to side. Well done and hopefully it won't be your last one you show us.

You was one of members who said welcome to me with great encourage and kind words,
...all are busy,Rafa,we all very busy in our lives,and TE is a great friendly community in internet which becomes a part of our life,for meet the friends,for seeing what that the friends have seen,...
Rafael,...it's very difficult for me to say my feeling in english,...just an ask and please:
"change your title and purpose"
every time you can,come back,every time you can,post a shot and say again about yourself,...it's not a heavy ask,...Rafa...

change it please and leave us,...but...we try to stay here,because i need to see my friends,...without points,believe,Rafa...

come back every time you want,surly all the friends will be glad,...

Olá Rafael!
Infelizmente só agora tive oportunidade de comentar uma foto tua no Trekearth e logo agora que tomaste a opção (quanto a mim correcta, faces às circunstâncias) de terminar a tua participação. Da minha parte, tens toda a solidariedade possível relativamente à situação delicada em que te encontras.
Em relação à foto e para um leiriense como eu, frequentador assíduo da belíssima praia de S. Pedro de Moel, a imagem é, como calculas, muito familiar. O enquadramento está perfeito e a perspectiva de fuga da estrada e da pista de ciclistas que a ladeia provoca uma sensação de infinidade e alarga a profundidade de campo. Um óptimo registo, parabéns. Abraço!

I am very, very sorry to read your reason for leaving. Personally I am very much against these new rules regarding critics, comments and so on, as I see the total work done by active photographers, like youself, much more interesting and valuable, than your ability to express yourself in details, especially in English. Very sad ending then..
Your last shot then of this noending desolated road is what I take for an image of your leaving TE to continue other 'roads'...

this is not good Rafael,
Just when you bought your new camera you went, No man, think, what you do. Once I had done the same, and that was not good from me, because I missed all my good friends, no when you are an old member and that you are, it will cost you a lot of pain thats for sure.
But think very good, you have a lot of friends here, and where else you can show your photos, like here.

Nós todos seremos verdadeiramente pesarosos vê-lo ir. Talvez você poderia aproximar Adam no tempo de algumas semanas, & pede o reinstatement de sua abilidade critiquing? Diabling certo de I'm de sua abilidade critiquing não é pretendido como um arranjo permanente, & a maioria de povos fariam a algumas permissões para um altofalante inglês non nativo tais como yourself. Eu encontrá-lo-ia muito difícil, & cronometro consumir, sempre à crítica em língua portuguese, francesa, alemão, japonesa, ou toda a outra. Você é muito bem-vindo afixar algumas (ou todas) suas críticas no português, sob os termos de TE do uso, se você se estiver esforçando para afixar sempre críticas inglesas. I para um, imóvel fariam o esforço traduzir em Altavista, & eu sou certo que muitos outros regulars aqui demasiado. Ciao. Esta imagem é fantástica, BTW. Ame a simetria da nuvem & da estrada cinzentas.

We'll all be sorry to see you go. Perhaps you could approach Adam in a few weeks time, & request reinstatement of your critiquing ability? Disabling your critiques isn't permanent. Most people would make some allowances for a non native English speaker. I would find it hard to always critique in Portuguese, French etc. You are welcome to post all of your critiques in Portuguese, under the TE T.O.U., if you're struggling to always post English critiques. I would make the effort to use Altavista, & many other regulars here would too. Take care. This image is fantastic, btw.

Well, perhaps I am not a friend and surely I missed a lot of your photographs, but still I regret you are leaving because it expresses my own fears about the future of this site. It used to be a place where people could meet, sharing a common interest, photography. Recently this is changing. I don't know you too well, but somehow I have the impression to loose a friend. I wish you all possible luck in your future live.

J'apprécie votre style de photographe, sur cette image la perspective accentue la profondeur et les courbes de la route nous incitent à vouloir parcourir cette route avec vous.

With a bit of delay, here I am too Rafa, to thank you for all your beautiful images, that provoke so many beautiful thoughts and emotions!!! Your picture here is so symbolic - a wonderful promise for the upcoming future... Love the deep blue sky with some clouds, just as it happens in life. Love the different lines of the road, exactly as we have different life paths, but still go to the same direction - to work on ourselves and become better humans...!
I will not question your decision though it makes me sad of course. Every one of us has the freedom to decide for him/herself and it is not good if others say wether that decision was good or bad - we all have different criteria for good and bad so it is very slippery ground... I am withdrawing from TE gradually myself too, because of a few reasons that are not that important. The most important thing is that you are a wonderful and sensitive person and you transfer all this into your photography style. So, please Rafa, no matter what you will do or where, keep going up and don't give up! And thank you for being on the bright side of the people, my friend! Take care and I will be happy if you still keep in touch!

Hi Rafael, I was absent from TE quite some time and I was wondering why I didn't see no more pictures from you anymore. I searched and found the answer. I don't know if you will ever see this comment ever, but if you do: it is sad thing to hear that this was your last picture. For what it is worth: your picture really goes with the subject: a road going away, away to where? Even the clouds go the same direction. Maybee we will see you again on the www someday; I really liked your pictures. All the best.
