Photographer’s Note

Maple Ridge is a small family runned downhill ski resort where I hike daily. The fall colors have been very disappointing this year after record cold weather the foliage left is very dull in hue.

Yes, the colours of fall for this year aren't as good as the fall shots you posted from here last year.
Oh well, there's always next year.

Hi Tom,
what a beauitful composition here, principally the big dog, this is a Retriver Labrador? Sorry, but I´dont know the name of breed in english, but in Brazil are known as Labrador, and dogs are very kind, I love it and Boxer dogs. Good colors in your picture too, my friend.

another great shot, Tom, I particularly like the sense of the green hill curving around the pond, the patterns on the grass and the fence create a nice lead-in line. and the dog! the star of the scene :)

Hello Tom,
The dog makes a nice focal point before the eyes wander up the grass track towards the trees. Good colour contrasts between sky and landscape. The puffy clouds contribute much to the atmosphere. Very good sharpness.

Nice saturated colours and a strong leading line in the pathway and the fence. Your dog also provides a very necessary focal point.

Hi Tom,
a nice snapshot of the Maple Ridge,with the fence to creates depth in the scene.The existence of the dog,lead the eye to the far end of the shot with the red leafs of the tress to be an eye catcher of it.Well done.

A wonderful, polarized blue sky, with the dog adding a good focal point & animating the scene. I like the warm cold colour contrast between the red & orange trees at left, in the bg, contrasting againt the blue sky. The dusty road provides nice lead in lines. Tfs!

Hello Tom,

Our colours have not been spectacular either.
However, the colours in your shot are showing some lovely warm reds!
A great pov with the curved path and rope fence leading nicely around the shot. The colours are well saturated and there are many textural contrasts.
Your dog gives fine f/g interest but could have been better positioned a little further forward and to the right.
The light is excellent, really perking up the sky with the addition of the polariser.

today you are presenting this already well known place from a different POV! Very beautiful impression with this high and very attractive sky and the dog that is adding a nice touch to the image. For me the colors are very pleasant but I agree that autumn is a bit disappointing this year. TFS!
