Photographer’s Note

This photo did not come easy, taken at Alstrom Point, in the morning with a view of Gunsight Butte and Padre Bay and a high viewpoint over Lake Powell. This is part of Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. We drove for about 3 hours on a bumpy dirt road. the last 2 miles or so was so bad we were driving up rocks that were like stairs. We ended up staying out here camping through the night with no facility. We had enough food and water for the night.

High-clearance 4WDs is recommended, but any high-clearance vehicle is acceptable with good tires. Road is not passable when there is rain. You will have to pass a decent size creek.

On the way back, we had a broken tire, I meant broken not just flat. It must have been punctured while driving on the rocky area. Lucky enough there were two other cars coming behind us who stayed at the same place the night before. Three very nice guys, one from Germany and two from Phoenix, they stopped to help us changed the spare tire, and they stay behind us to make sure that we made it back to the city okay. If you guys even see this, Thank you!
We even made it in time for our Antelope Canyon photo tour.

See WS for These Gentlemen at Work.
