Photographer’s Note
In the Philippines roadside restaurants like at the European motorways are not available, especially not at the country side.
Instead there are sari-sari stores with coffee and snacks available.
This motor driver is just taking a break while transporting the goods to somewhere, maybe a market in Cagayan de Oro. It was quite a big load in volume on the back of his motor.
Doing this kind of work is not very good to your health due to the huge amounts of soot produced by the jeepney's and other old cars. Often motor drivers are covering their face with some cloth.
This photo was taken from a slow driving jeepney while we were going to a rafting location. The sign pointing to it you can see in the upper left corner. I can't find the location on Google maps but it is about half an hour drive outside Cagayan de Oro.

Hello Harko,
I like this colourful scene :) There's a lot to see in it, many interesting details. With all its "daily-life-ish-ness" (if I may create such a word) it's an excellent capture of the moment, with a good composition (in the current conditions)!
It's a very lively scene, it makes the mood rise :)
Warm regards,
and wishes of a nice weekend!

Hi Harko
A good slice of life shot. The light was well managed as we can see detail in the shadow on a very contrasty day.

Dag Harko,
Goede samenstellong, bedankt.
Groeten,
John.

The prices will be lower than at the motorway service stations too! Very good daily life scene captured well at the time of the 'action'. There are many details to look at in the ramshackle roadside 'coffee bar'

Hi Harko,
very attractive daily life photo. There are such interesting elements on it. The tangential light is a good feature for sure. The tight framing also works pretty well. Great one!

Carlos

Hello Harko,
A sari-sari with an extended service!
This is a fine documentary showing this typical Filipino phenomenon, they have even provided a bench in the shade for the guests...
And tobacco commercials are still legal..!
Greetings,
Pablo -
