Photographer’s Note
This photo is not sepia nor was it taken during the recent dust storms which covered Brisbane and much of eastern Australia. It was taken late in the afternoon from the cliffs of Kangaroo Point.
I am looking across the Brisbane River and the trees in the foreground are in the City Botanical Gardens. The domed rooflines seen on the left are the Queensland Parliament Buildings. Beyond and in the centre of the frame can be seen the Wheel of Brisbane in Southbank Parklands which is over another bend in the Brisbane River. In the distance are the hills of Mt Coot-tha with the Channel 9 TV aerial to the right.
The only post-processing changes I made were to reduce the exposure slightly and to crop out the foreground where there was some lens flare evident.

Hello Marlene,
An unusual picture, and certainly unusual colours. I understand why you felt the need to point out that this is not a sepia conversion. The three layers are quite attractive, but the outstanding feature is the giant sun that seems to be hanging just over the mountains.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello again my dear Marlene
What an another amazing shot !
Good composition but light management is rather difficult specially in this case!
You had better set by manual, I suppose.
But congratulation on your effort!
Thanks for sharing and best regards,
Have a good Saturday !

Hi Marlene,
Good framing. I like the elogation which fits in with the horizontal lines of cityscape then mountains. Incredible duststorm that hit our eastern seaboard. Well captured.
Cheers,
Graham.

Pretty well done this panorama across the city on a hazy day. I like it.

Hello Marlene,
this is a really almost fantastic view - due to the dust storms which created quite a different world... a mono-coloured world (may I say so??)
It doesn't look like the surface of Mars, of course, but... quite close to it!
just to think that somewhere such things like dust storms may easily happen and they may harm people and animals :(
I like the "layers" of this view: they create an effect of a cutout!
Warm greetings from not-dusty-Moscow - but very windy and cold!

Hi Marlene,
An intriguing photo with lots of interest despite the dusk timing. It isn't an angle that I've looked at Brisbane from but it works really well.
cheers

Hi Marlene,
Interesting picture with these dusty silhouettes. Yesterday there was an item about dust storm on Dutch TV in a program that follows the travel of Darwin.
