Photographer’s Note
The southernmost point of the Australian mainland, Wilsons Promontory (affectionately known to Victorians as 'the Prom') is arguably the most loved national park in Victoria. Its 130 km coastline is framed by granite headlands, mountains, forests and fern gullies. Tidal River, 30 km inside the park boundary, is the focus for tourism and recreation. The park contains the largest coastal wilderness area in Victoria.
Along the northern bank of Tidal River are some large granite boulders. The orange colouration is caused by lichen growing on the rock.

Hi Stephen,
This must be in the part of the park where you can't get by car anymore? I did not have that much time to spend there and walk around (for several days). For what I saw it was beautiful.
You captured the beautiful wild vegitation around the rock. Well composed, with good reflections in the still water and nice colors due to the soft light.
Well done & thanks for bringing back memories!
Have a nice day,
Harko

Hi Stephen,
Almost abstract view of different shapes: foliage, trunks and branches and rocks. And almost perfect reflections make a strong visual effect. Good strong contrast. Well done.

Hello Steve,
To me a most unusual landscape, especially those trees. I get the impression of a compact wilderness. The reflections are great.
I am used to your scans, but it surprised me to see that this was such a recent picture. You must be one of the last persons taking slides in this day and age.
Regards,
Gert

Hi Steve. Charming composition, quite poetic. looks like something from a fairytale. Lovely reflections and the dark nooks accentuate the mystery and stillness. My compliments. The whale is there but where is Jonah? Regards. Klaudio.

Hi Steve, Nice clear shot with rich deep colour & contrast, this image is well balanced with the big rock making a good focal point. I think we will be struggling to find something to post from our TE meeting on Sunday, miserable weather but the BBQ was fine.
Cheers

Hi Steve, did you name the Rock or did someone else? Because it's very apt - nice spotting. The light captured here is magical, with reflections almost as clear as the rocks and trees they reflect. The texture on the water is also so beautiful, this image brings me a real feeling of peace and quiet. Sigh. Enjoy your weekend and TFS, Lisa.

Hi Stephen,
A close-up frame of a bigger landscape, a well-chosen organization of nice natural elements. I like the lonely rock midway in the river, breaking the perfect reflection.
The bunch of trees slightly tilted, the large rock, the multiples green hues, there's a lot to like and to look at in this very nice image.
Cheers!

Hi Steve.
Just caught sight of your two 'whale' shots! This one is absolutely superb, with the rounded rocks and the many scraggly white gums set against the beautiful green tones of the vegetation. Nice reflection in the river water, too. Great scan - you wouldn't know it.
Regards,
Andrew

Hi Stephen,
This is a great photograph of beautiful Mother Nature. The reflection is too good. The contrast between the rocks and trees are beautiful. Thanks for sharing this beautiful picture.
