Photographer’s Note

We caught a bus out to the delightful old world fishing of Marken (see my photo from there in my Netherlands folder). From there we caught the ferry over to the larger town of Volendam. Probably the best part of Volendam was the view from the approaching ferry as the waterfront area was very touristy - although the streets just behind the waterfront did have some interesting buildings and waterways.
The uniformly colour roofs provided a good feature to focus on along with the harbour and the clouds. I have cropped out some sky and water.

Volendam ... I´ve been there two times , a long time ago... I still remember those tasteful fish sandwiches which they sell at the main street markt!
A nice view... Good memories!

Though, at the time of photo taken, light is not proper, but eventhen you have taken the shot beautifully. Framing and sharpness is perfect and POV is good. Congrats.

An excellent shot of Volendam. You are quite right, the best way to see this place is arriving by boat. I wen there several times while sailing with my Rasmus 35 'Festina Lente'. I hope you visited Hoorn as well.

Hello Ian,
The light is well filtered and controlled on this port which is characterized by the dwellings with the red roofs, which have a good répititif graphic effect. The well contrasted sky is sumptuous. The realization is excellent, cheer.

Great colours - I love the rich red roofs. Nice deep strong clouds also. Well considered framing. Yes, very nice colourful shot. Looks like some clouds are full of rain. Good note.
