Photographer’s Note

I left my family, who sat down to lunch at a wonderful looking tapas bar in the centre of Ronda, knowing that if i sat & ate, i would not have time to look around one of Spains oldest operational bullrings. So i went off alone.
I am quite intrigued by the whole buisness & i can't say i would be wholly repulsed at witnessing an event. Which is not unlike Orson Welles, who visited Ronda many times (as Ernest Hemingway also did) and, after his death, had his ashes scattered in the centre of the bullring.
Anyway, this picture is of the wonderfully tiled staircases that rise from the dark corridors, which run between the thick walls, and lead out to the bright upper tier.

Hope you like the image,
regards,
David
