Photographer’s Note
Kotor, located along one of Montenegro's most beautiful bays is a city of traders and famous sailors.
The Old City of Kotor is a well preserved urbanisation typical of the Middle Ages, built between the 12th and 14th century. Medieval architecture and numerous monuments of cultural heritage have made Kotor an UNESCO listed “World Natural and Historical Heritage Site". Through the entire city the buildings are criss-crossed with narrow streets and squares.

Well done.

The modern design and colour adds an extraordinary contrast to the old town and way of life. I love it.

Hiii ;)
After that short but exhaustingly "interesting" holiday, my first critique is to you :)
Well, we also went to Kotor (as well as Budva), and i loved there, maybe as much as Dubrovnik. Very interesting "Stari Grad", and what i was mostly amazed was that, different than other Dalmatian fortified towns, there were many lovely late baroque buildings placed side by side with those Gothic, Renaissance and Early baroque buildings. It was like a small combination of Dubrovnik and Zagreb. Did you see Napoleon's opera house??...
As far as i remember, i also have a similar photo from there. As usual the colors and light are fantastic. And that litte "soft" chair is really cute :)
Huuggsss,
Deniz
ps-1: The Chardonnay was FANTASTIC. Tnxxxx

Hello Isabela.
A very pleasing way of viewing this old arched passage to somebody's back yard. The stacked firewood and the hanging clothes, which our gaze is led to by the walls of the passage, indicate the daily life aspect of the picture, and the pink stool makes a great foreground interest, at odds with the ancient stonework, which adds depth. I think your exposure is very good, and it's well cropped and framed to make a delightful photo.
Regards,
Andrew

Bonjour Isabela
Good POV for your shot, with a child chair and the view leading to the background where the clothes are drying (Mediterraneen habit). The pavement reveals an old city.
Good work

Hi Isabela. Your excellent exposure management has accentuated the textural life of this spot. Nothing over or under exposed, everything bathed in some degree of warm light. There is a strong sense of depth when the eye is encouraged to look past the arch and into the brighter distance. the pink stool reminds us where we are standing. The colours of the washing on the line adds to the vibrancy.Well done. Regards. Klaudio. Nice to see you in the Balkans.

Hi Isabela,
nicely spotted detail. And you really managed that exposure well, which must have been tricky.

Bonjour Isabela
Un très joli cliché aux couleurs bien saturées de ce passage avec au fond les constructions anciennes et en premier plan ce petit siège tout rose qui capte bien le regard et qui ne t'a pas échappé.
Merci pour le partage et bonne journée.

Good morning Isabela
I loved this composition. The clothesline in background and the details of the ground make a beautiful picture. In MHO your picture is perfect in technical details and beauty.

Dober Dan Isa,
Oh Crna Gora, you're expanding your list of visited countries with this spectacular place I'd like to see some day, this pink chair doesn't feature the best of tastes when it comes to decoration, but it's a funny detail your experienced eye did not miss.

Hi Isabela
The pink fg stool juxtapositions nicely, against the colourful washing, on the lines, in the bg. Good texture & sharpness, & the stone arch frames the bg beautifully. Tfs!

Hello Isabela,
The rose chair is an eye-catching surprising and contrasting foreground to a fine view of this small alley. Light well managed despite the huge contrasts.

To be honest, I am not really satisfied with our Montenegro tour. After a 3-4 hours drive, we had a quick panoramic view over St Stefan, then went to Budva for lunch, had 1-2 hours for free and then visit Kotor. In Kotor, we had such a short time that I even couldn’t get over the shock of place’s beauty, I just walked behind Deniz while he was shooting and tried to enjoy the streets and the view. Since I shot almost nothing there, I will follow your Montenegro shots so closely.
It was so nice to meet you and your family Isa, thank you very much for your visit. I could say meeting you was the best part of our Dubrovnik holiday, but you already know that this is the second best part :)) I hope one day we will have a much longer meeting!
Hugs and kisses!

Ah- am o slabiciune totala pentru strazi medievale care sunt inca 'vii' cu viata cotidiana.
Un loc superb si compozitie perfecta- scaunul acela este un contrast total si trezeste tot felul de intrebari :)

Hello Isabela,
I'm catching up with the archives after an absence. This is wonderful. The stool and the strong colors of the washing contrast wonderfully with the warm and beautifully lit stone and give a lived-in immediacy to this ancient place. Thank you.
Best regards,
Mary
