Photographer’s Note
Another shot - another day - another city...
Luzern met us with rain - with heavy rain! but also with slightly encouraging sky :)
We had to wait at the train station for about 20 minutes for the rain to finish... and afterwards the gradually clearing up weather made us really happy!
This shot was taken approximately in the midst of our walk about the city.
In my photos which I post here I try to present a slightly different look on very well-known, famous places, objects and monuments.
I want to capture not only the object itself but also the ambience, a bit of the area around... and of course, the mood of the moment! a bit of lifestyle of the town.
I hope I succeeded? it's up to you to judge!
In the background: the Church of St. Leodegar (St. Leodegar im Hof).
It is the most important church and a landmark in Luzern.
It was built in parts from 1633 to 1639 on the foundation of the Roman basilica which had burnt in 1633. This church was one of the few built north of the Alps during the Thirty Years War and one of the largest and art history rich churches of the German late renaissance period.

Hello Elena,
I was just about to turn off the computer when I renewed the gallery a final time and found this one. Sunshine! A blue sky! Yellow lines in the street, a man on a bicycle coming towards us, a group of people, a fine church, and a lot of picturesque wires in the sky. A bit postcardish, but a very nice one.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi Elena,
Same here, I was also going to turn off the computer...
This is a very nice picture of daily life in an ordinary city, could be anywhere in Europe. An attractive church, a nice street scene with a man on a bike and a lot of ugly wires above (even though electrical buses are far more attractive than the ordinary Diesel buses). Nothing more to say, really ;)
Warm regards

Nice one Elena, typically European, great color and detail. If this were the US the biker would be in the process of being run down by an impatient drive. Fine capture.

Elena,
This is a nicely composed shot with the off center placement of the church with the overhead lines leading the eye into the shot. The lighting and colors are fine with nice sharpness and detail. The people add a nice sense of life to the shot.

Hello Elena
I see you have a particular style in your photographs and this photo contains all those elements - street scenes with neutral coloured buildings, cars, pedestrians,an occasional church and perhaps a few flags. You really do show us daily life when you travel. Tfs, Marlene

Hi Elena,
You indeed have a skill to capture daily life style photos that avoid being random snapshots.
Again this is a scene with well chosen viewpoint, and still not too well known one.
For a personal preference, I wish you would have included one of Luzern's trolleybuses in the frame.

Hello Elena
Surely you was successful. This picture is beautiful with this nice house in the right and the church and its high towers in background.I like to see the rain through the windows and here, as the climate is hot, children like to take a shower and enjoy it.

Hello Elena!
Pretty interesting, well composed and beautiful urban view! Sharpness, exposure and natural colors are excellent!
I was in Luzern, back in 2005, but it was wintertime, with lots of snow all around! I remember I visited that church in the background and the whole city really pleased me! Good memories!
TFS - congratulations!
Best regards,
Neyvan

Hello Elena ,
A nice city picture . I like a lot the chosen POV , to show us many interesting things , the buildings , the church , the movment in the street (bike , cars , walkers) . Even the lines in the blue sky are effective in the composition .

dear Elena,
is it really after rain?
there are no sign of rain water...
anyway this is delightful shot of cheerful cityscape there.
buildings are peaceful, (it is not like N.Y. Tokyo...)
and clear light and chic colors make all nice and comfortable.
we cannot see a trolleybus in this, but the electric wires above the road is for it.
white/blue flags and red shutters are good accents in this view.
thank you,
Akihisa

Hello Elena,
This is an attractive and very well presented city view from Luzern. The composition is very good! Even the cars, the bike-rider and the people on the left are so perfectly placed. Excellent control of light and good natural colours, perfect sharpness. Blue sky and a few white clouds complete the pleasant atmosphere. TFS!
Best regards,
Lasse

Hi Elena. Another cyclist! What is it with these Swiss? Do they also yodel as a warning? Seriously, the place looks like a toy town, clean, neat and orderly. Even the rain knew when to behave itself and the sun came when you beckoned him. Krasivyi gorod. Regards. Klaudio.

Interesting graphical effect of the tramway's electrical line leading the sight toward the church.
All the best,

Hello Elena
I vaguely remember this place when I visited Lucerne years ago! Fairly strong light you got here for this street scene, which you captured with quite a few elements, as life goes on for locals. The yellow line offers a good lead-in. Well done!
Warm regards

Hello Elena
I love these downtown City shots. it gives us a clear idea as to what its like in various other countries.
I like your placement of the Church in the background, situated between the two other buildings.
Its also good that you included all the people and cars, alot of people would wait for all the traffic to pass on by.
Great choices you've made.
Craig
