Photographer’s Note

Another shot - another day - another city...

Luzern met us with rain - with heavy rain! but also with slightly encouraging sky :)
We had to wait at the train station for about 20 minutes for the rain to finish... and afterwards the gradually clearing up weather made us really happy!

This shot was taken approximately in the midst of our walk about the city.

In my photos which I post here I try to present a slightly different look on very well-known, famous places, objects and monuments.

I want to capture not only the object itself but also the ambience, a bit of the area around... and of course, the mood of the moment! a bit of lifestyle of the town.
I hope I succeeded? it's up to you to judge!

In the background: the Church of St. Leodegar (St. Leodegar im Hof).

It is the most important church and a landmark in Luzern.
It was built in parts from 1633 to 1639 on the foundation of the Roman basilica which had burnt in 1633. This church was one of the few built north of the Alps during the Thirty Years War and one of the largest and art history rich churches of the German late renaissance period.
