This shot was taken inside Pasar Besar Siti Khadijah at Kota Bahru, Kelantan during my tour along the East coast of Peninsular Malaysia. This market was formally known as Pasar Besar Buluh Kubu but later renamed as Pasar Besar Siti Khadijah in honour of the industrious women who accounted for the majority of the stall owners here.
It is a four storey building with the ground floor as the wet market while level one is for dry foodstuffs. On the second and third level you can find materials like Batik and other textile items, local crafts from copper and silver are also available here and not forgetting hardware items that you might need for your home.
I took this shot from the third floor as I would like to have the vendors to be surrounded by the beautiful colours and textures of the vegetables and fruits.
