Photographer’s Note
Crete stoned historical windmills are well known and many of them is well preserved and nicely restored by their owners. The most known group of such mills is located at Lasithi plateau. But last few years You can find new kind of windmills which serve like electric power generating stations. Very interesting and very new group of them I found during my bummels high in Asteriousa Mountaints (south Crete) over small town Lendas. Giant metal towers in the middle of naked country, edited thud, looked like apparition from another world….
Left of the mill´s tower You can see a bay with village Kali Limenes; high rock over the bay is southmost point of Crete, Lithion Cape. Here You can find, except perfekt views, the rest of german fortification from World War II.
