Photographer’s Note

Sighisoara is a Saxon medieval town surrounded by hills in Transylvania. But it is more beautiful and less hyped than any place in Romania, and has a greater amount of perfectly preserved medieval buildings. For many, its great drawcard is the Dracula connection - within the walls of the medieval citadel you'll find the Dracula House, in which Vlad Tepes was born in 1431 and reputedly lived until the age of four.
It is now a bar and restaurant :)
But the real joy to feel in this old town , is to walk on the narrow streets, near the walls, to observe the details of every house, still keeping the original architectural details

Hi Isabela,

It's beautiful! The strong contrasts but all-around crispness and clarity add such an atmosphere. The perspective and tilt gives and impression of being there oneself, and adds a nice compliment to the weathered walls.

Dear Isabela,
A marvelous capture, I like the way you have presented the image, quite dark, moldy and foreboding, just like the way Count Dracula would have liked it.
Your low POV is a very good touch, I like the large area of dark ceiling.
I wouldn't want to go there at night, well not without a crucifix and a wooden stake.

Excellent capture, Isabela. It looks like a still from a coloured film noir, or some SF perhaps with an odd retro touch to it. Great atmosphere shot, wonderful contrast work!

movie.*g* excellent dark composition, love the old cobble-stones and the interesting colors (pp?).

Wonderfully unique perspective which emphasizes the details of stone and architecture. The lighting and curves increase the spookiness of the place and the person makes it look inviting through it all. I wouldn't want to travel this way alone! Thanks, Judy
