Photographer’s Note

On DeCourcey Island is this pleasant cove popular with tourists to moor for the night. In the 1930s "Brother XII" set up his commune where he succeeded in liberating his congregation from their wealth ("lust for money keeps one from reaching heaven") before vanishing on the eve of his court trial.
