Sorry, I made a mistake. This is the island of Kahoolawe -- not Molokai.
Shot from the plane while travelling from the Big Island to Maui.
This is the real colour. The island is volcanic and mostly uninhabited. You can see a volcano crater at about the upper left intersection of thirds. The green lines running down toward the sea are the lava ancient flows where vegetation has taken hold. I don't know what gives it the red colour, probably minerals in the volcanic soil.

Hi Eva,
Looks like a beautifull coral reef from the thumbnail. Like the red next to the blue ocean. A classic and by no means uncommon colour combination which always attracts viewers.
