Photographer’s Note

This is a classical Yuanyang Rice Terrace shot.

Even thought it was taken on the same location. Every pictures are different due to the evey changing lighting.

This photo was taken at the morning just after sunrise.

The light to the rice terrace is block by the thick clouds.

Some lights pierce through the thick clouds and shine on the raising fog and the bottom of the rice terrace.

the light here is so wonderful! this is why photographers wake up early to capture the first light! the angle and the clouds hanging in the air and the beams of light...all perfect! thank you so much for sharing this (and waking up early!)...

Very interesting picture, with this strange contrast between upper and lower parts. Soft lines vs sharp ones.

i like this rendition. it allows our eyes to wander around the pattern of the terraces while the mood is enhanced by the glowing gold of the rays.

Hi Tony. There are a lot of shots of these famous rice terraces and after a while they all become rather repetitive. But this has something very special about it. The light is fantastic, the low cloud. Really very nice and deserving of a few more points. Chris
