Photographer’s Note

Yesterday evening was clear and calm and about half an hour after sunset, the sky took on an amazing pink and purple colour to the south and southwest, although at the time i was sat at home looking out the window, so i jumped up, grabbed my gear, and drove down to Shanklin Beach.
The colours had become even stronger by the time i got there, and knowing full well that it was going to be high tide, i had only one spot in my mind, and that was this slipway at the southern end of Shanklin Beach.
I ended up in the water to capture this shot and the waves rushed in with loads of power even though they were only thigh high!

The strange thing is that there were no people on the beach and it was very quiet apart from the crashing of the waves. It was a great time to be at such a lovely spot :-)

I used an ND4 Graduated filter
