Photographer’s Note

Visiting Berlin you shouldn't miss to view the "Gärten der Welt" (= gardens of the world) a wonderful, spectacular and really well-kept park in Marzahn, a district in the very east of the city. There you can see amongst others an Italian Renaissance garden, a Balinese garden, a Japanese garden, an oriental garden, a Chinese garden - all with impressive and original buildings of these regions. There's also a great labyrinth planted out of yew trees and several restaurants. More gardens with special themes currently are planned .

My photo shows some totem poles, called Zang Sung, in the Korean garden. People in Korea use to adress their wishes to these carved poles.
This part of the huge park is a present of the Korean capital Seoul to Berlin and it shows a traditional Korean garden landscape of 4000 square metres with several wonderful buildings.

In workshop you can see these totem poles from another angle.

In the map view right hand you can see the dimension of this really worth-visiting park.

Une vue étonnante de ces statues. On a l'impression de voir des totems indiens. Ce jardins doit être très intéressant.

Je vois qu'il n'y a pas eu de répit dans tes posts. Cette image est intéressante car je ne savais pas que les Chinois sculptaient aussi des totems moqueurs comme ceux-ci ;o)

eine sehr gute Anregung für den nächsten Besuch in Berlin! Eine tolle Aufnahme dieser vier charmanten Herren, wären nicht die Bäume im Hintergrund, man würde sie niemals in Berlin vermuten. Ein Photo, das eine schöne Stimmung ausstrahlt!

Ein einfaches, aber interessantes Bild, Frank. Zunächst war ich über die Location "Berlin" überrascht, aber dieser Museumspark scheint ja recht interessant zu sein. Guter Kontrast zwischen den interessant gearbeiteten Totempfählen und der grünen Umgebung. Gut eingefangen.

P.S. Meine Frau (Japanerin) und ich würden gerne ein Foto aus dem japanischen Garten sehen - falls Du eines hast und es nicht zu aufwändig ist, könntest Du ja evtl. einen Workshop (oder ein vollwertiges Posting) hochladen ;o)

Interesting wooden sculptures. Without your note, one would not believe they are staying in a park of Berlin. :) It must be a really spectacular park with all those gardens from the world. A good shot!

Genial, diese Motiv, ich glaube Berlin ist sicher eine Reise wert (ich liebe Gärten)!
Dein Foto erinnert mich ein wenig an die Osterinsel. Motiv, Bildschärfe und Kommentar perfekt!

Hi Frank. Most totem pole seem serious, these are most definitely the happiest totems I have seen. Well captured, good colours and composition. Thanks for sharing.
