Alvord Desert Dawn I Photo

Photographer’s Note

Shot on the Alvord Playa in Southeastern Oregon. This is a beatiful location, with Steens Mountain in the background. When the lakebed dries, it forms large cracks in the surface, giving it a look sort of like Badwater in Death Valley. I took a number of shots using just the cracks in the desert as foreground, before driving around the lakebed and stumbling across this brush.

Hey Ben,

Great composition and sharpness at all layers of this photo, and awesome sense of depth and scale. I really like the dusty tan-brown colour scheme throughout the photo.
