Photographer’s Note

The rice terraces of Batad shown from atop. It is indeed amazing to see how over the years the Ifugaos have maintained these fields. It is even more amazing how they built the terraces. They don't use fertilizers or pesticides in the crop culture. They also use low-yielding varieties. I wonder whether this place can sustain their farming livelihood considering it is very hard work with meager returns.

It took a two-hour hike to reach this place. I do wish I carried my tripod and tried different tech settings.

Very nice colours. Maybe a little late taken since the shadow covers part of the right side, but that also seems to add to the spectrum.

I`m dreaming of seeing some of these riceteraces some day.I`ve seen a lot,but only at flat landscapes.
What a great POV and nice view down.A nice palete of colors and the few houses make the composition perfect.

When seeing something like this I can't help wonder how many days of hard work it took to create this awesome place..!
This kind of rice fields create great lines for the composition, the rusty roofs offer fine colour contrast...
But this is not your first time in batad, right? I seem to recall former images...
