Photographer’s Note

Hello to all my TE friends,
I would like to dedicate this image to all my friends which came to give your precious critigue and comment on my last post "Sunrise over the Cape", I can not thank you individually but say it in this shot! hope you like it!
This was captured at the Whatipu in a beautiful autumn day last week with my mate that we decided to return to the wild westcoast of Auckland!

Hello Tony,

Superb view with the lighthouse at the top of the rocks. Supreb reflections in the water too, a formidable symetric effect. A great depht of field, nice colours and an incerdible prospect. Very good, very nice photowork.

Your lighthouse stand on higher ground than mine ;-)
But here you have the beach in front with clear blue water and also a nice reflection in the sand...not bad and it seems a steep climb with low tide to get in to the lighthouse.

what a shot! last year I was quite doubtful about my trip: either vietnam+cambodia or new zealand.

In the end I went to southeastern Asia...I was pretty happy...but such a shot lets me think maybe I am wrong!

I love the light, sharpness and the perfect symmetry of the reflection

Perfect light and (almost) perfect reflection on the sand.
The whole composition is so balanced and fine but I like especially the intense colours and light that makes everything sparkle. So simple yet so incisive and of great impact.
And what makes the differnce here is the largeness of both the beach and rock shown by that tiny lighthouse.
An excellnt work my friend!

Very impressive! The bright sharp and tall rock along with the light house looks majestic whereas the horizontal see line that breaks the frame right in middle is also good.

Breathtaking capture of this tiny lighthouse atop of this shear rock island while it reflects in the retreating surf.
The blue here are especially vivid as they contrast so effectively with the crashing surf..

What a wonderful seascape! The low POV gives an impressions that the waves are almost heading right up to your camera and this gives a feeling that one is standing right there. The beautiful light and colours together with excellent clarity create a fascinating atmosphere. The awesome reflection is a great element in the photo too.

Why build a tall lighthouse when you can build on a tall cliff..??
An amazing view with a great subject, and frankly i don't envy the lighthouse keeper that climb...

There are some tongue-twisting names attached to many of your shots. Am I right in assuming that they are Maori in origin?
Thank you for this dedication; it really is a super shot. The pov makes excellent use of the reflected rock and lighthouse, in the wet sand. Together, they make an incredible symmetrical image.
Well saturated colours and excellent composition complete this eye-catching shot.

Hi Tony,
I see you weren't very active during my short absence. The rock and the intriguing lighthouse are very picturesque, specially seen from the low POV you used, that makes it stand out with its greenish brown contrasting with the amazing dark greenish blue of the sky and the bright blue of the sky. The reflection on the wet sand and the dark shape on the lower right are a great bonus to the compo. As usual, I am amazed by the tidiness of the compo, the clarity and sharpness.
The only thing less great is the darker spot on the upper right, but that happens very often and it's very difficult to disguise in PP.

the sight of this distant lighthouse standing on the top of the rock is very beautiful (especially thanks to this reflection which is "broken" by the wave). I would say, it is also an excellent choice of composition :)

Fabulous shot, Tony. I like it very much. The mirror-like surface of the receding water on the beach reflects the rocky outcropping so effectively. The colors and resolution are exquisite.
