Photographer’s Note
The Berliner Dom is a protestant baroque cathedral constructed between 1894 and 1905, and badly damaged by an incendiary bomb in World War II. It was restored in 1984 and opened in 1993. In the background is the TV
tower which I ascended back in 1979. East Germans were not allowed to do so for fear that they would see the riches and opulence (cars, fancy shops, elegant hotels, etc.) of the "decadent" West. Now there are as many Porsches, Audis and Mercedes on one side of the Brandenburg gate as on the other!
