Photographer’s Note
This photo was taken from the helicopter as we flew along the middle of Lake Wakatipu. We had just flown over the Kinloch area and making out way to Walter Peak. As I looked out the window I noticed the beautiful reflection on the lake and this is the result.
Kinloch is located at the head of Lake Wakatipu, 45 kilometres north of Queenstown. Kinloch is surrounded by mountains in every direction: The Humbolt range to the west, and the Richardson range to the east. The Dart River to the north is adjacent to Mt. Alfred.
For anyone interested in walking tracks there a number of popular tracks that are accessed from Kinloch. The NZ Department of Conservation maintains numerous tracks and facilities and half the Routeburn Track, one of DOC’s Great Walks. Other tracks include the Rees-Dart and the Greenstone-Caples.

Hello Jude,
I love strong deep colours with high contrast en a lot of saturation, just what you show us here. I'm amazed by the quality because you were probably shooting through a window. But look at those patches of light which lies over the mountain and valley below, isn't it wonderful. The only thing we miss is the Earnslaw passing by.

Henk

Hi Jude!
Another beautiful shot! I love the surface of the water with its reflection...it looks almost unreal.
Another thing: I will send to you a private message to ask you a little favor! I hope you don't mind!
A regard

Hi Jude,
Lake Wakatipu is such a beautiful location, and I think you've done it justice here. You've chosen a really interesting way of framing/croping it, I wouldn't have thought of cutting the top off the mountains but as you've included the full reflection it really works in this case.
Cheers

Hi Jude. A splendid job considering the exposure speed and the fact that you were on in movement.Yet the sharpness of the land forms is excellent. i love the light and the shadows of the clouds on the land and the textured aspect of the water.Nice too how you included that bit of sky for depth. Regards. Klaudio.

Hello Jude,
What remarkable terrain. Your composition reveals the colors and textures effectively, with the sky and the reflected sky as an extra bonus. Warm regards, have a good weekend.

Hi Jude,
Lovely reflection and great sharpness and composition. I like how we can see the content of the reflection without seeing it in in the top..this adds a clever dimension to the scene - cleverly done.
Regards
Justin
